Chasing Rainbows

Chasing Rainbows marks the final exhibition of our Pear shaped: one-night editions by collaborating artists. Richard Stride and Michelle Knowles combine their practices to explore the potential of the collaborative process. This one-night exhibition also marks the end of Current Projects' residency as the Metro Arts Artist Run Initiative in Residence.

Cleanskins

Cleanskins is a one night exhibition of video work by selected Brisbane based artists who hail from North Queensland. It will bring together artists from this region in an effort to explore the potential influences of moving from North Queensland to Brisbane and whether or not this affects their approach to art practice.

I'm curating the upcoming Current Projects exhibition - a solo show of video work by Rachel Maclean - opening on July 4. I met Rachel while doing an art residency at the Banff Centre in Canada early last year, so I'm very excited to be showing her work here in Brisbane. If you are in the city next Wednesday night please come along and enjoy the opening reception. Otherwise, the show will remain open until July 14. The exhibition examines Scottish identity in relation to history, mythology and popular culture. It will be a cracker of a show! I'll have some art journal pages in Current Projects' upcoming show called Passages which examines how text is used in visual art practice. Opening night is on Wednesday 2 May, 6 - 8pm and the show runs for 3 weeks. Studio 3.5, Level 3, Metro Arts, Edward Street, Brisbane.
